Layla Farms

I hope you enjoyed your three day weekend! We had plans to take a road trip to Houston or the beach or BBQ but the weather really changed our plans. Most of Texas has been stormy and nasty which has really prohibited any time spent outside. We haven't seen the sun in weeks, which unfortunately is not an exaggeration. It's depressing. But yesterday, in hopes of getting outside for even a bit, we drove to a local farm to look at the cows and walk the property. It was so gorgeous and we were so thankful the rain held off for an hour. We talked to the owner for a long time and we bought milk, butter and yogurt. FYI, if you ever have the chance to buy dairy from a local farm, do it! The butter literally has three ingredients. We went home and looked at the ingredients in our store bought butter...over 20!! It's crazy! Our yogurt lover downed the little jar of "drinkable yogurt." He can't get enough.

Just as we were walking the grounds, the rain returned and Liam stepped in a red ant hill. The poor guy started screaming. It was the saddest thing ever and in our efforts to get them off of him, we all got bit. Those things are ruthless. So we headed home, just in time because it started raining buckets. The rain remained the rest of the day, followed by thunder and lightening and our plans for Texas BBQ were ruined and we settled for pizza. It was a relaxing day, perfect for our little family. These days are my favorite.
