High Rise Flares

Tank: Target | Pants: Asos | Hat: Target | Heels: Zara, similar

Skinny pants will always be my favorite and most reliable style but as I've gotten older I've turned to flares more and more. Nothing super dramatic but with a high waist they can be super flattering, especially since I'm still losing the baby weight. Gotta hide that tum tum. Oh, how I missed my high rise pants! These are last season from Asos and still one of my favorites because of how long they are. At 5'11 it's hard to find pants that are long enough and I like my flares to be about half an inch longer than the standard length. Shopping the tall section on Asos' website is a game changer because everything is the perfect length!

Hope y'all have a happy Monday!

Tips for getting ready in a hurry

Tank, old | Jeans, F21 | Flats, DSW, similar, similar on SALE for less than $20 | Striped tee, Heidi Merrick, similar

Why are some of my most favorite outfits the ones that require 1.7 seconds of thought to throw together? And usually it's when I'm going somewhere suuuuper important like the grocery store or gas station. Whether I'm in a hurry or not I don't like to fuss too much, though husband would say otherwise. I usually prefer looking put together without trying too hard and I achieve that three ways:

1. A monochromatic outfit--usually all black.

2. Mixing patterns--my personal fav is stripes and leopard.

3. Throw a flannel or oversized tee around your waist.

It easily adds style and intrigue but takes no time at all to put together.

What are some of your favorite tips for getting ready in a hurry?

Keep it simple

Tank, thrifted, similar, similar (ON SALE) | Jeans, Gap | Heels, Amazon

As a style blogger, it can be hard to post inspiring outfits weekly when nothing speaks to me more than a simple outfit with clean lines. Sometimes they tend to be a bit expected or overdone and I worry that they're too simple.

But it's who I am and creating an unexpected twist with an accessory or hair style is a great way to add interest. For me, it's the hair, usually in the form of a braid. This is my current favorite braid. I've worn it twice already this week. Best part? It's not even a full braid and is soo easy to do. I get compliments every time I wear it. Tutorial to come later this week so stay tuned!

What are you gals into? Do you ere towards simple or do you prefer a little more "punch"?
