April showers bring May flowers.
Except when you're in Texas. Then it brings constant downpour, flooding, hail, tornadoes, and humidity. And always always on a Sunday. This week is scheduled to be a steady stream of rain with no sun or relief in sight; this last weekend was no different. The three of us were getting a little stir crazy and when there was a break in the rain we stepped out for a quick splash in some puddles.
Still in my jammy top, Liam and I threw on our boots and waded through the water. It took one jump in a four inch puddle and both Liam and I were soaked. We twirled and danced and searched for the perfect puddle for jumping. Minutes later, the rain started again. Trapped under the awning we waited a few minutes watching it fall. It was peaceful with the sound of the rain tapping on the metal above us. Realizing it wasn't stopping we made a run for it. Hand in mine, Liam giggled all the way home.
Perfect Sunday afternoon.
