The Final Week

Leggings: Nordstrom | Top: H&M | Flannel: Old Navy | Shoes: Target | Hat: Nike

Saturday  morning, I was finishing up packing the few remaining items in the hospital bag while Liam was eating breakfast.

Mooooom? When is my baby brother coming? A question we all want to know.

I don't know, bud. Hopefully soon. I'm so excited! Are you?

Yes! I want to hold him and give him toys. But not big toys, wittle baby toys. Cause he's a baby. I don't want to be a big boy, I want to be a baby. I don't waaaanna grow up!

I want you to stay little too, while trying not to shed a tear.

Last night he brought me Love You Forever to read to him before bed. I literally only got through the first two pages before I started crying. Hormones, amiright? Luckily, he wanted to read it to me and made up his own story as he flipped through the pages.

I have one week left until my induction date and I'm savoring it up. Liam has been extra cuddly and sweet and I know he's going to be the best big brother. Though I'm swollen and incredibly uncomfortable, I'm loving the family time we've had. I think we're all feeling excited and impatient and more grateful than ever.

Scooting through the weekend

Every so often, Liam and I will take a day to explore the city. We dub it Adventure Day. Saturday we took towards downtown for a brief coffee date at Local Press + Brew which is the cutest little coffee shop in Oak Cliff. We sat for a while sipping fresh pressed apple juice, an almond latte and after much convincing, a chocolate donut was consumed, discussing important things like super heroes and cars. Then we drove around the corner to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge where Liam requested a scooter ride. If we have a spare moment, he's always requesting to ride his scooter. The day was warm and it was a perfect Saturday with my boy. I'm cherishing these last few which just him and I.

Saturdays are usually the day for getting out of the house and exploring a bit but sometimes your jammies, heaps of laundry, and showers at 5pm seem worth it so you don't leave the house, no not once. Sunday morning, we early serviced it at church and took off towards downtown Dallas. Husband had read that there are B and G's, eleven to be exact, all around the metroplex. Since we've been trying to explore our city more, we thought it would be fun to find them all and create a scavenger hunt out of it. Points for husband being creative!

We found the first one in a dog park. A dog park that serves margaritas which is almost worth getting a dog for. Almost. Liam served as the "I" and was thrilled that as he was standing there, Mr. Traino came chugging' down the tracks which is mostly why he's not looking in any pictures. No scavenger hunt can compete with a train comin' at ya.

We moved along to the next BG and discovered it in The Rustic, the BEST place for brunch if you ask me. Country music played in the background while we sipped coffee and ate Liam-sized donuts. (Mom and Rick, we're going here when y'all come!)

Thinking we'd maybe catch a third set of letters, Liam had other plans and lost it because the train was going the opposite way and he wanted to "catch it." It's hard when you're two and your life is tragic.
