6 Things You Can Do to Spice Things Up in Your Marriage

Husband has loooong days and even longer weeks. Sometimes the long hours can be draining so I've been trying to think of little things I can do for him to bring little bright spots to his day/week. Gotta keep that romance alive and burnin!

1. Send him on the hunt for presents. Start with #1 on his pillow, end at the mailbox. It doesn't have to be expensive, it's just the thought that counts.

2. Start your day with "I love you" while still in bed. It will set the tone for the entire day.

3. Compliment him at least once a day. Total mood booster.

4. Go for a drive. I used to burn CD's out the ying yang, a la 2001, so pop one of those suckers in the car and catch up on the week's happenings.

5. You'd be surprised what lace and a few candles can do. :)

6. Declare him king for a day, preferably on a day when he's home! Wake him up with breakfast in bed. Get him a crown, even if it's from Burger King and schedule foods and activities you know he'll enjoy. For husband, this means a nap and beer. Sunday morning, Liam and I woke Thomas up with a crown him and I made together, homemade coffee cake, and a cup of joe. Surprised and super groggy,  he sat up and was so excited once he saw his crown. But really who DOESN'T want a paper crown, expertly crafted with duct tape? No one. That's who.

I made Martha Stewart proud by making coffee cake from scratch {scratch for me means from a box. Baby steps here people} and L helped by licking the bowl. Just doing his part.

After church we spent the remainder of the day taking a 3 hour nap {!!!} and waking up to a little boy's request to go to the pool. For the next two hours we splashed and made all our summer dreams come true.

Best of all, husband felt cherished, truly appreciated, and most certainly royal. A paper crown will do that to you, ya know. Flaunted that bad boy all around town proudly. Picked up beer in it too. #manly

I call it a WIN when he starts falling asleep by the pool.
