Ennis, Texas; bluebonnets; iced coffee; trains; farmer's market and sunshine = the makings of a good weekend.
We woke up bright and early Saturday morning, mostly because Liam can not will not sleep in past 6:30, packed a day bag and headed South. Our only destination was bluebonnets which left things wide open which is generally how I like it. Stopping along the way, we asked a small town policeman where the best bluebonnets are. Giving it deep thought, as every police man does, he pointed us to Bluebonnet Park. Holy. The hills were aliiiiiiive! I'll save that for another day.
In between time we found a farmer's market, picked up some almond iced coffee, listened to some live old school country and made it just in time to see a long "cargo traino going down the tracks" as Liam calls it. Liam rather enjoys imitating a train's whistle but found out real quick that real trains' whistles are intense and LOUD. He burst into tears, all while still waving to the train. The conductor waved to Liam and just like that, all was well in the train world.
Small town Texas is so charming.
